About this cause

Canberra Grammar School (CGS) has been a supporter of RFN since 2018, with multiple service journeys and projecst being completed in different locations around the Pokhara region. April 2025 marked our fourth collaboration, with 23 students and staff travelling to Nepal to undertake CGS’s biggest project yet, which coincided with the 10-year anniversary of the Nepal earthquake. Money raised by CGS students through their individual and group efforts funded the materials and construction of two earthquake resilient classrooms at Shree Janakalyan Basic School, Assam, Kaski. Students were also involved in the physical construction of the classroom through sawing, sanding, concreting, landscaping, erection of frames and painting, while also having the opportunity to experience and express universal values of service, selflessness, gratitude, resilience, joy and bonds of friendship.
