Hi everyone, my name is Rachael and I am a year 10 student at Nagle Catholic College. Over the winter holidays I had the privilege of travelling to Timor-Leste with the Cagliero Project. We visited multiple Salesian communities, meeting so many amazing students and educators. We were welcomed warmly at every school and orphanage we visited, and now have the oppurtunity to return some of the kindness we received.
One of the schools we visited was a Don Bosco inspired school in Laga, which was located about 5 hours from the capital Dili. The school is in need of a new 10,000 litre water tank and bathroom refurbishments; as there are 618 students and 42 staff and only one functional toilet block. This is a daily challenge for the staff and students as they struggle with the lack of bathroom facilities and safe water.
All funds raised will go directly to this cause. And furthermore, Salesians Mission Australia will match every donation dollar for dollar, making our fundraising go twice as far! Every contribution made whether big or small is appreciated so much, and goes so far. I would also be so thankful if you are able to share this crowdraiser with family and friends. As the more support the better.
Thank you!
